For the regular followers of this blog, you know that this site used to be called “Important Life Lessons”.
Recently it has been revamped and now it is known as “I Just Hold Up The Light“. And the tagline is: “You Choose Your Own Life Path.”
It’s no secret that the new blog name is inspired by the controversial Greek philosopher, Diogenes of Sinope aka The Cynic.
Diogenes And His Lantern
Diogenes is said to wandered around ancient Greece in broad daylight, carrying a lit lantern; when asked what he was doing, he would answer, “I am just looking for an honest man.”
All the articles published here are intended to illuminate your senses, just like the glowing lamp throwing light on the path.
But then I leave it to you to make your decision. You don’t have to agree or follow my insights and views.
In fact, I strongly encourage one to be true to oneself. To live life as authentic as possible.
Authenticity is about being genuine and real. We must take into consideration about our strengths and weaknesses.
We must be aware and accept them. They are accountable.
They are connected to our values and desires. Our actions must be consistent with those qualities. Then only we are true to ourselves.
